Frequently Asked Questions

Who leads United for Infrastructure?

United for Infrastructure, now in its 9th year, is a not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. The organization was founded and is led by its Steering Committee – a bipartisan team that includes leading business groups, labor unions, and think tanks working to improve America’s infrastructure. Our Steering Committee consists of the AFL-CIO, the American Society of Civil Engineers, Building America’s Future, Business Roundtable, the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Value of Water Campaign.

What is United for Infrastructure?

Throughout the year, United for Infrastructure works to highlight the critical role infrastructure plays in all sectors of the economy and show policymakers at all levels of government the breadth and diversity of support for long-term, sustainable infrastructure investment.  We do this through keynote events, like our Presidential Candidate Infrastructure Forum, as well as through our podcast, webinars, workshops, and smaller convenings.

Our signature annual event is United for Infrastructure: A Week to Champion America’s Infrastructure (formerly Infrastructure Week).  This week of advocacy brings together organizations and individuals from across America  – from local businesses, trade associations and chambers of commerce to mayors and individual citizens – to host events, tour new and innovative projects, and talk about infrastructure with the press and on social media. We encourage you to participate in the Week and tell your infrastructure story. Plan an event. Drive media attention. Reach out to your elected leaders.

Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost to join as an Affiliate, and our staff will support your organization, facilitate partnerships, and help coordinate events and media to highlight the infrastructure issues critical to your stakeholders.
