Infrastructure Week celebrated it’s 5th anniversary in 2017 with its largest national program to date. Under the banner, It’s #TimeToBuild: Our Country, Our economy, Our infrastructure, our Steering Committee and more than 300 Affiliate organizations hosted more than 100 events around America. From the Future of Smart Cities to the opportunities of rural broadband, and from the quality of our nation’s airports to resilient planning to protect our drinking water, Infrastructure Week covered a LOT of ground.
IWeek 2017 by the numbers:
- 300 participating Affiliate organizations
- 100+ events nationwide
- 175 million impressions on social media
- 50+ Members of Congress participating in events, and hundreds of offices visited by fly-ins
- 4 Hearings held in Congress
In DC and throughout America, corporate CEOs and labor union presidents; dozens of governors, mayors, and local leaders, from Alabama and Colorado to Los Angeles, CA and South Bend, IN; more than 50 Members of Congress from both parties; and leadership from the highest levels of the White House renewed the call for action to fix what’s broken, build what’s needed, and put Americans back to work.
