For over a decade, United for Infrastructure (UFI) has championed federal infrastructure investment. UFI, our Steering Committee, and Partnership Network were critical to passing the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which is driving economic growth, creating millions of jobs, and strengthening our national security. The IIJA is only a down payment on America’s infrastructure needs. In 2025 and beyond, UFI is mobilizing a broad bipartisan coalition to push for a strong surface transportation reauthorization bill to secure long-term funding and keep the nation moving forward.
Our annual Infrastructure Week events in May are the cornerstone event for infrastructure advocacy, bringing together key government, private sector, and community stakeholders in Washington, D.C., and nationwide. Infrastructure Week programming is the premier forum for shaping and advancing the national infrastructure agenda, highlighting critical policy developments and leadership across infrastructure sectors.

Advocating for Robust, Sustained Infrastructure Investment
As a leading national coalition for infrastructure funding, UFI advocates for significant and continued investment in America’s infrastructure, from roads and bridges to broadband and energy grids. With the IIJA set to expire in 2026, UFI has ramped up its advocacy efforts, calling for funding that meets or exceeds the historic levels set by the IIJA to improved mobility, strengthened supply chains, expanded access to clean and reliable drinking water, and increase national security.
On the heels of the release of the BUILD America 250 Act, the next surface transportation legislation, United for Infrastructure convened federal, state, and local leaders, along with nonprofit and private sector executives, to consider the future of federal transportation funding.
The keynote addresses were delivered by FHWA Administrator Sean McMaster and Ranking Member Rick Larsen, of House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The event included panel discussions on surface transportation reauthorization, data centers and the energy grid, and water systems.
