The future of infrastructure investment in America depends on us
United for Infrastructure’s top priority has been and continues to be showing how infrastructure investments support American businesses and families. Investing in our infrastructure supports our economy at home and our global safety and competitiveness.
United for Infrastructure was successful in its push to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) because our Steering Committee and Partnership Network include organizations and perspectives across the political spectrum who are willing to sit at the same table. The critical need for infrastructure investment outweighs issues where we may disagree. United for Infrastructure serves as a bipartisan, central hub for reauthorization efforts nationally – joining conversations and campaigns together under one unified banner.
It took a decade to garner support for IIJA, a long overdue down payment on our infrastructure, and we have to keep the momentum – and investment – going beyond 2026. As you meet with Congressional leaders and the Administration, let’s drive home the impact that the IIJA has had on American households and in cities, counties, and rural areas across the nation.

Here are a few examples of IIJA’s impact:
A report from our Steering Committee partner, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), notes continued investments at the level of the IIJA would save American households an estimated $700 a year.
The Victory Infrastructure Project in Fernley, NV received a $25 million grant to complete a roadway connection to Interstate 80 and add a new switch off the Union Pacific mainline railroad. The investment will increase supply chain efficiency and help to lower costs of goods by improving access to the fast-growing Victory Logistics District Industrial Park. The park, which has also attracted Opportunity Zone investment, is expected to create up to 10,000 jobs over the next five years.
A $26.7 million grant to Hamilton and Edwards counties will replace dirt roads serving major dairy facilities in Southwest Kansas with nearly 15 miles of paved, modern roads and stormwater infrastructure. This project will ease transportation of milk, cheese, cattle, and feed to and from the surrounding cheese and dairy farms, as well as support the creation of more than 100 new jobs.
In Connecticut, a $407.4 million investment in the Gold Star Memorial Bridge connecting New London to Groton is expected to drastically reduce traffic accidents by 2,100 incidents and travel time by 59 million hours, impacting tens of thousands of daily commuters, supporting legacy employers in the region, including General Dynamics and New London Naval Submarine Base, and providing critical access to the State Pier Terminal.
Infrastructure Week 2025 will serve as our next big rally point for a successful reauthorization of IIJA in 2026. Mark your calendars for May 12-16, 2025, and keep an eye on this newsletter for coming details about the agenda and speakers!
