House T&I Subcommittee opens portal for surface transportation legislation proposals
The House Transportation Subcommittee on Highways and Transit is requesting legislative proposals from stakeholders as the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee prepares language for surface transportation reauthorization. Legislative proposals should be submitted no later than 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
As a coalition of leaders, businesses, and advocates committed to strengthening America’s infrastructure, United for Infrastructure urges Congress to ensure that the next surface transportation reauthorization builds on the historic investments of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). UFI supports using IIJA spending levels as the baseline for future infrastructure funding and encourages stakeholders to make that clear in their proposals.
Reauthorization efforts will lead every conversation and event during Infrastructure Week 2025. Hosted by Business Roundtable, in partnership with the United for Infrastructure Steering Committee, the theme for Infrastructure Week 2025 is Stronger Infrastructure, Stronger Nation: Innovate, Secure, Compete.
The marquee event of Infrastructure Week 2025, held at the Business Roundtable offices on Tuesday, May 13, will highlight how infrastructure investments make our nation stronger, more economically competitive, more resilient, and more secure. Join Members of Congress, senior-level policymakers, business, state, and local leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss how a new surface transportation bill can maximize impact, reduce costs, and deliver results to the American people, including permitting reforms and private investment in public infrastructure.
